Smooth Technology designs and deploys access solutions for hotels and apartments, replacing the mechanical key with a card. The booking assigns a room, the encoder writes that assignment onto a card, and the door lock reads the card and decides. The same principle in a hotel and in an apartment: guests get in with what was assigned to them, and nothing else.

The SL02-LH190H is a hotel lock designed for a guest room or apartment. Guests no longer handle a key: they present their card and the door opens. In case of a fault, a malfunction, or a lost card, a mechanical key remains available.

The CR60W encoder is the station that links the reservation to the lock. It writes the assigned room and the validity period into the card. Without this step, the card stays an empty object and the door will not open.
Encoding does not create a link to another system: it writes straight into the card what the lock will be able to read. The installation therefore stays independent of the software the property uses.

The MIFARE card is the medium that links the guest to their room. It is read by the lock without contact, which lets it be used in hotels and apartments alike. It is what gets encoded, and what the guest keeps for the duration of their stay.

The LH5000 is a hotel lock offered in a right-hand and a left-hand version, depending on the door's opening direction. It is the format used when a property wants a dedicated guest room model, with a locking behaviour suited to intensive room use.
SL02-LH190H and LH5000 cover the same need for two different audiences: the former for apartments and small units, the latter for hotels with a room inventory.

A versatile guest room model, used for apartments and furnished residences as well as hotel rooms. Selected when the same hardware has to cover several types of accommodation.
A dedicated hotel model, in right-hand and left-hand versions depending on the door. Selected when a property standardises one room type across a large inventory.
From the moment a room is assigned to the moment the door opens, the sequence is automatic.
A room is assigned to the guest
The encoder writes the stay into the card
The guest presents their card to the lock
The door opens, or stays closed
Every stage — from the room assignment to the lock's decision — is designed as one single sequence. The card serves only that purpose: telling the lock which room to open, and for how long.
The card replaces the mechanical key: nothing to lose in transit, nothing to count at the end of the day.
The card is encoded for a room and a period. It stops opening at the end of the booking.
A lost or stolen card is revoked by encoding a new one, without changing the lock.
Registration happens at the encoder, in a few seconds, in front of the guest.
A hotel room changes guest every day, an apartment changes occupant far less often. The same components cover both cases.
